Funny when you get annoyed by something, isn’t it? One of these days I decided I was tired of t-shirts, which compose like, 80% of my closet… lol!!! So that day I went to Calanthe and ended up taking this cute polo shirt that besides being striped (I love it) is full of pretty details!

And I’ve been liking a lot to mix black, white and red, I think it makes for some pretty contrast! I took advantage of the clothes being very basic and besides the espadrille, I wore red lipstick, to make it more charming. Here in BH we’ve been suffering with very pleasant weather changes from boring rain to absurd heat, and on that day we were begging for some breeze… I can’t be very creative when I’m dying of heat!

In fact, this is my first espadrille from the more classical kind, with the closed toe box… I’ve been seeing many around, but I always dislike the angle of the heels, which usually I find to be too low (lol). This on I found to be perfect, the hard thing was choosing the color!

I’m wearing:

Polo shirt: Maria Filó
Shorts: Forever 21
Lipstick: Ruby Woo
Bracelet: Topshop
Espadrille: Lilly’s Closet

I’m such an anxious person that I end up showing products I’m trying for posts before, on Instagram, lol! This week the bronzer from MAC’s new collection showed up here, just like Vichy’s cream, that I showed on Friday’s video.
Besides being anxious, I also have a slight panic of how crowded stores get at the end of the year, so I have done most of my Christmas shopping already, on street stores, ha! I went to Calanthe and obviously also got a lot of things for myself, like the two bracelets from the picture, one with a grig (looks like a cockroach, doesn’t it? Lol, I love it!) and the other one with a thousand twists and this beautiful effect. I left the store already wearing them (check out the anxiety!)!

After I don’t know how long, I felt like having Japanese food, and went to revisit Sakê, a super delicious restaurant that I usually go to, but that I don’t remember ever mentioning here! They have very different dishes, and some of them I order for fun, like the one on the picture, which comes to your table on fire, lol! They add a flambing liquor that I don’t really like, but it’s very cool!

Taking a look at it, it looks like the office is organized, doesn’t it? Nothing like picking a good angle! And whoever looks at the picture being taken at that moment will find me to be a very serious girl, I even added a book to the composition, lol! And they (it will be posted on Estado de Minas!) won’t see the shoes I was wearing, this golden ones (a la Beyoncé, like said João Lucena on the Instagram comments, lol), that takes all the seriousness out of the look! It’s from Luiza Barcelos and had just arrived; I couldn’t resist and changed them at once!

And to start the weekend well, we had a celebratory brunch at one of my best and oldest friend’s house, the kind of friend that you call their mom “aunt” (well, I would if I was used to it, lol), do you know? She didn’t know the Mimosa, the drink on the picture that I thought her to make (very hard: mix orange juice to sparkling wine. That’s it!), and it was a success among the guests. Congratulations Fê!

If you are tired of opening your bijoux drawer and seeing that ocean of earrings all over each other, check out this cool idea:

Isn’t it fun?? The interesting is that the lamp changes as you chose what to hang on it. It can look more boho with large earrings hanging below, or super classic and shiny with small strass earrings! I want to have one just to fill it with small shiny earrings! The design is from Moo Studio.

Exchange: Santa Barbara

In July of this year I made a choice: I’ve exchanged my 15 year old party for a trip, but not just any trip! I decided to spend three wonderful weeks vacationing is Santa Barbara, California, visiting the city as well as some other cities around it, while I studied, met new people, a new culture and, of course, shopped a lot! Many think that an exchange program is all about fun, while some people believe it to be all about studying, but I’ll tell you from experience that is an equal mix of both. At the same time you study, work hard and learn, you can have a lot of fun, especially if you’re willing to get to know new things and adventure yourself!

Something that I loved over there was people’s manners, especially on traffic: no honks, drivers that respected pedestrians and vice versa! It was beautiful! That, of course, without mentioning the beauty of the city, which is small, simple and pretty! Full of trees, with the constant ocean breeze blowing by.

Places to visit and tours:

Natural History Museum: A wonderful place, tells the story of the city and has all possible objects from pre-historic to skeletons and stuffed animals. What I liked most was the butterfly vivarium in which you can enter and have full contact to those wonderful creatures!
Land & Sea Tour: A tour guide accompanies everyone through the city, telling its history, curiosities and typical jokes, and suddenly the car falls into the water! That’s it, a ride over the ocean without having to leave the car for a boat. And you even have the chance to spot dolphins and sea lions!
Rent a bike: Next to the beach there are several places where you can rent a bike, rollerblades or skates, whichever you prefer, and on the beach there are some skate/bike/rollerblade tracks as well as a bicycle path.
Zoo: You will see a penguin (Lucky!) with a prosthesis from up close, the national and state bird. Without mentioning the amazing Gemina memorial, a giraffe with a broken neck.
Pier: To me, the most beautiful place of all! I simply fell in love with the pier! On my free days, I would take a stroll around town and then I’d spend the rest of my time sitting at the pier and thinking about everything. Wonderful!
Those are all places in Santa Barbara, but it’s good to know that close by there are other great places as well, Los Angeles (which means, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Universal Studios and also Disneyland), Solvang (for those who like wine and chocolate).

Where to eat:

The Habit: It’s a diner, but much better than Mc Donald’s, with more incremented burgers and French fries to die for!
Natural Café: I had an amazing pesto pasta! For vegetarians and pasta lovers, I really recommend it!
Wahoo’s: Perfect IF you like tacos! The “Fish Tacos” are very worth of trying..
Wetzel’s Pretzel’s: Do I need to tell you what they sell? Delicious!
Mad Dogs: I super recommend it if you want a hot dog! The hot dogs might not look like the best (lol), but they are delicious!
Most of them are at State Street, the main street, so they are easy to find!

Where to shop:

Claire’s: If you like bijoux and different accessories, this is the place!
Forever 21: Beautiful clothes and wonderful accessories for low prices! If you like a vintage style touch, then this store is perfect!
Camarillo Outlet: Super low prices, and every week they have a special sale. Can you imagine? Converse, Vans, Armani, Calvin Klein… But I’ll warn you: You won’t find a Victoria’s Secret outlet! Oh, and something else, don’t think that you can check everything out in just one day! We went there twice, on the first day, we spent 5 hours there and on the second, 8 hours and still some people couldn’t see everything!!
